*Cookiie; Koji Spring Heart Long Lasting Eyeliner (review)

And as promised, here's part two!

Product description: Koji Spring Heart Long Lasting Eyeliner is waterproof and attached with sharpener. It is easy to draw fine lines by the soft lead of this eyeliner pencil.

How to use it: Turn out 2-3mm of the eyeliner pencil lead and sweep along the upper and bottom eyelash-line. The pink section of the eyeliner pencil is a specially-designed sharpener.

Price: $4.30 (ordered at Sasa.com)
The product

As you can see on the picture, this eyeliner pencil has a cleverly designed sharpener on top of the pencil. This makes the eyeliner pencil a great product to take with you wherever you go, as you can apply and sharpen it very easily anywhere.

After sharpening, it'll have its original shape back that allows you to make more precise lines. However, I find this eyeliner way too dry to make nice lines on my eyelids with, so I usually dont use this product for that purpose. I like to use this for making a line right above my bottom lashes, to make it seem naturally fuller. You can also use this to fill in your lash line, but I prefer using my Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner for that. It doesn't smudge or fade on me for the whole day, as it's fairly waterproof and super dry.

The pigmentation

The Spring Heart eyeliner's pigmentation isn't that great, but I like it that way for my use. The first swatches are from an unsharpened lead, the picture after is from when it's sharpened. You can tell that you have slightly more precision after sharpening it, but the intensity doesn't change.

The same picture, also showing how it makes it look like my bottom lashes are "fuller":

The verdict

It's a shame I can't use it for all lining purposes, but I do like the super dry and waterproof formula. The price is very affordable and the sharpener makes lining a lot easier.

*Cookiie; Koji Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner (review)

For years I've been looking for eyeliners that are able to stay on all day without smudging. My eyelids are quite oily, so lining my eyes could become a real disaster if I am not using the right eyeliner. Fortunately, Koji eyeliners have been working really well for me. I will be reviewing the Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner and the Spring Heart Long Lasting Eyeliner, divided in two posts (to avoid making it too long). Continue reading if you want to know more about them!

Product description: Koji Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner has a ultra fine yet flexible point tip, which allow greater precision with a easy to handle eyelining experience. The deep dazzling black can accentuate the glamorous eyes of yours, giving you a more defined look. This eyeliner is waterproof, sweat proof and with the quick dry formula, the eyeliner can stay on for hours without a smudge. Your look will be long wearing and gorgeous even without touch-up.

How to use it: Use the pencil to fill the spaces between your eyelashes and draw a smooth line just above your lashes.

Retail price: $12.50 (ordered at Sasa.com)
The product

The fine tip makes lining your eyes super easy, whether you want it thick or very thin. I also have no problem using it to fill between the eyelashes to make the eyelashes look fuller. If you swatch it on your hand, it is definitely water- and sweat proof; it can stay on whole day even after taking a shower.

On your lids however, you do need to do a little more effort for the same effect if you have oily lids like me. I always prime my eyes with the Too Faced Shadow Insurance and put on at least a layer of eyeshadow on top of it beforehand. If I'm winging my eyes, I'd put some light coloured eyeshadow below the 'flick' (I really like using the Revlon ColourStay eyeshadows for that). This way the liner will pretty much stay on all day without smudging.

However, I've had days when I got teary eyed (because of yawning..I yawn quite extreme for some reasons) where the liner would get off by a simple wipe. Curling your lashes with an eyelash curler afterwards can also cause some of the product sticking onto your curler instead of your lids. I don't see that as a big problem, but it's definitely something to put in mind when you use this eyeliner.

The pigmentation

The Dolly Wink eyeliner is incredibly black and you can definitely build up the intensity a bit by applying a few layers on top of each other.

And a picture to see how it's on the eye:

The verdict

It's not the perfect liquid eyeliner, but it's close enough to that for me. It's great quality for its price, so I'll definitely keep using this until I find something even better.

*Milk; current favorite products (short reviews)

Benefit High Beam

This product does wonders for my somewhat sallow-looking skin. I have been mixing it with my foundation and it gives me wonderful glowy skin! Unlike other highlighters, this product is not glittery or shimmery, but has an irredescent glow to it. 'High Beam' is a silvery, pearly pink whereas 'Moon Beam' is a peachy gold. I highly recommend this product for those with dry skin and have trouble creating that natural glow with any 'dewy' foundation.

Koji Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner

Not only is the packaging super adorable, the product itself is an idiot-proof eyeliner with great lasting power. I initially bought it to put in my make up bag and use it for touch ups, but it works better than I expected! The lasting power is similar to a gel or cream liner, but application is a lot easier since you do not need a seperate brush. The applicator tip is slim and firm so you can draw a thin line very easily. It does smudge a little now that my eyelids are oilier in the summer, but applying a bit of powder or primer on the lids should fix this problem.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Lip Care SPF 15

(I peeled off the label for the ingredients list )

My lips are often severely chapped and this really does help nourish them. It does not contain petroleum jelly/petrolatum unlike many lipbalms and it also has an SPF of 15. It does not have a very high SPF factor, but that does not matter because I re-apply my lipbalm quite frequently. Another reason why I love it is that it is also paraben-free!

Aveda Volumizing Tonic

I use it on clean, slightly damp hair and then I blow-dry it using a large round brush. It works pretty well for my fine hair, but nothing A-MA-ZING. It looks pretty good when I just finish blow-drying but after a while my hair will gradually start losing its volume. Perhaps using a hairspray would solve the problem but I have yet to find a good hairspray that will not weigh my hair down or make it feel crunchy. I love the fact how it does not leave any heavy or greasy feeling on my hair, in fact it feels there is no product at all. I wash my hair every other day and even on the second day, my hair feels very clean.

Laneige Strawberry Yogurt Peeling Gel

This has almost completely replaced my exfoliator. I find that I only have to use an exfoliator on certain areas such as my chin and my forehead which tends to get bumpy during that time of the month. My skin does not get irritated at all when I use this. No stinging or redness at all! The granules do not feel harsh because they are wrapped around in a layer of gooey gel which allows it to glide on the skin. It does have a strong, artificial strawberry yogurt scent, so I do not recommend this product if you are very sensitive to fragrance.

*Milk; Long overdue Hong Kong haul

Yes, this haul post is very much overdue. I feel awful for not updating in such a long time! As you guys already know, I went to Hong Kong last month and ever since I got back I have been feeling sooo lazy! It took me at least 2 weeks to find the energy to unpack my things.

A lot of things have been happening this past month. I'm currently finishing up my last term at school before starting my internship in September. I will be doing my internship at a photography company! Can't go too much into detail at the moment cause my internship still has to get approval and all that jazz, but I'm very excited.

I didn't pick up as many things as I initially thought I would, yet somehow I did manage to come back flat broke. Cosmetics definitely ain't as cheap as I wanted expected in Hong Kong! boohoo~ Anyway, let me show you guys what I did manage to get my hands on.

Most exciting purchase of the entire trip! Origins! I bought the entire 'Make A Difference' line and swapped the cleanser for the 'Drink Up Intensive' mask. So far my experience with Origins has been very positive! I'm sad that the brand is not sold here in the Netherlands, so I have no choice but to resort to ordering online. I'll do an updated skincare routine and review very soon!

Other skincare items I got include Laneige, Kiehl's and Nivea. At Laneige I got the 'Pore Clear Wash Off Pack', the 'Strawberry Yogurt Peeling Gel' and the new 'Water Sleeping Pack_Ex'.

During my stay in Hong Kong I felt constantly attacked by UV rays, therefore I felt the need to get some extra UV protection. At Kiehl's I got the 'Ultra Light Daily UV Defense' and the 'UV Protect Targeted Sunscreen Stick'. Both have an SPF of 50, the lotion has PA+++ whereas the stick does not. The SA told me that the stick was great for around the eyes and on the lips and it can also be used on top of your make up. So far I am in love with the 'Ultra Light Daily UV Defense', but the thing what bugs me is not the price, but the insanely small amount of product! The tube only contains 1.0 fl.oz / 30ml and I've already gone through half of it.

The Nivea 'SOS Relief Body Lotion' I got as an emergency skin saver. Even though the weather was hot and humid, my skin got horrible dry from the air conditioning. Nothing compares to my La Roche Posay 'Lipikar Baume', but it was able to soothe my dry flakey skin.

Now onto my pathetic make up haul. I have no idea why I only got this little make up. I felt like I bought a lot more than I did, but after giving away the souvenirs I got, this was pretty much what was left of it. :P

The 'Majolica Majorca Jeweling Eyes' in RD784, 'Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner' in Deep Black, 'Kiss Me Goodlash Power Beam Eyes' and also 'Maybelline Magnum Volum' Express' mascara. Also got the highly raved 'MUFE HD Foundation' in shade 117.

It feels good to finally finish posting up this haul. If you have any questions or want a review on any of the products, feel free to ask!
